— Walmart is getting a second entertainment center in Jacksonville, expanding the space that it uses as the company’s main store.
The company plans to open the $15 million building in the center of the shopping center in early 2018, but no date has been announced for the opening.
Walmart announced in January it would add a second stage to its entertainment center and create a smaller, indoor shopping area for its retail stores.
That project, in the heart of downtown Jacksonville, is scheduled to be completed by 2020.
The second entertainment floor will include a second-floor meeting and meeting spaces, along with the theater space that is currently occupied by a smaller stage.
WalMart said the new space will open up the store and entertainment center by allowing customers to “see and hear more than just their own product.”
It will also include more space for customers to rent and will offer more space to employees, including a more spacious, meeting room.
The company said the project will create more than 1,400 new jobs.
