The Sports Bible has confirmed a news report in which the entertainment group Royal Entertainment Group announced the completion of its $300 million acquisition of the popular scene75 entertainment centre.
The deal, which closed in February, was reported by the Wall Street Journal.
The news comes as the company seeks to shore up its portfolio of film and television content, which it acquired in 2012 for $150 million.
The acquisition included the production and distribution of movies including the new film “The Jungle Book” and the live-action television series “South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut.”
“Royal is focused on producing high-quality content for our customers and is confident in its ability to position itself as the leader in entertainment content,” said a spokesperson for Royal.
The company has also recently been investing in other digital properties, including its live-event series “The World’s Greatest Arena,” which has also seen a strong boost in viewership, according to the WSJ.
